The Fashion Museum’s special temporary exhibition offers a glimpse into the shared history of automobiles and fashion — a story shaped by the cult of speed, elegance, and freedom.
Tickets are available via jegy.hu and at the venue.
The early twentieth century was marked not only by technological breakthroughs, but also by the birth of an entirely new lifestyle. In this era, the automobile and the wardrobe became closely intertwined: few inventions of the modern age have influenced the evolution of fashion as profoundly as the motor car. In its early days, one dressed not only for the destination, but for the journey itself — and ever since, the automotive and fashion industries have continuously inspired one another.
Through iconic objects connected to Rolls-Royce and period garments, our exhibition reveals how two seemingly different worlds reflected the very same era — an age that gave rise to a new ideal of style and a visual language that remains influential to this day.
The exhibition transports visitors to the first decades of the twentieth century — the 1910s and 1920s — when the image of the modern, emancipated woman first emerged. It also explores the significant role the automobile played in the profound social transformations of the period.
From Thursday till Sunday, 10:00-18:00. Last entrance at 17:45.
